Excellent for gritty or abrasive media because fluid does not accelerate through the valve, causing wear.
Large flow area allows thick sludge and other heavy media to flow through the valve with the least resistance.
When used at the inlet of pumps, flow is nearly straight, allowing pumps to operate efficiently.
Works great as a pump control valve. It can operate at the right rate of speed to minimize surges, but will have minimal flow resistance while fully open.
How to Specify
Bodies shall be Cast Iron ASTM A126 Class B. Ports shall be rectangular and 100% Port Area. The valve port area shall meet or exceed standard pipe area per ASME/ANSI B36.10M
