Raised Welded Nickel Body Seat

Full ½" Wide Contact Between The Seat And Plug

Nickel is a great material for eccentric plug valve body seats. It is corrosion resistant, abrasion resistant, hard and non-porous.

Because the seat is raised from the body interior, solids can be pushed out of the way so the plug and the nickel body seat seal tightly.

The plug and body seats are in full contact over a ½" wide area, unlike round port designs where the narrow contact point causes the rubber facing to deform.

How to Specify

Seats shall be 1/8" thick welded overlay of not less than 95% pure nickel. Seat shall be at least 1/2" wide, 1/8" thick through entire width and raised. The raised surface shall be completely covered with nickel to insure that the resilient plug face contacts only the nickel seat.
